My apologies Canuck fan. Cap Friendly Dot com has their space at 2.4m so I guess we are both wrong. Miller is now an average NHL goalie. No longer Vezina caliber. a first round pick. You can get Bishop for a first and he's still in his prime. The Kings have been trading away #1's for years now. They won't make that mistake for Miller
BTW, the Canucks remind me of the Leafs circa 2009. Aging roster, aging stars. Bringing in middling free agents (Ericson) to help them finish 23rd instead to 29th.
Blame Gillis all you want but Benning continues down a futile path of mediocrity. No doubt to appease the Sedin's. In a few years, when the Sedin's are gone, where will they be? Likely at or near the bottom

Thanks for your opinions. I disagree. How is signing Loui Eriksson through 22-23, "appease" the Sedins who are signed though next year? Who needs appeasing anyways? For goodness sakes, Eriksson is a 30 goal scores just last season... he is not the Sedin's project or puppet.
And that is how a team does it.... no one goes from 27 to 16 to 1. They need to transition. Just how the kings are on their way down.... they call it "Closing Windows" but we all know that means uncontrolled free fall.
So of course Miller is not worth a 1st rounder.... but circumstances have the Kings by the short and curlies....
1. Quick Down
2. Backup Down
3. No $$$ to sign Bishop (Come on man, you dreaming?)
4. Window closing and they need to do something... ummm... "Quick"
My source was Cap Central. Usually a pretty good source.
Benning needed a year of stop-gap measures to stop the bleeding caused by Gillis and Kesler. His trades for Sven Baertschi,Markus Granlund and Erik Gudbranson seem pretty strong trades.
